Thomas A (Tom) Klepper, CPA

Tom Klepper is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years of experience in criminal investigations and forensic accounting. He served as a Special Agent for the U.S. Treasury Department for 26 years and as an Investigator with a Federal Financial Crimes Task Force for 4 years, leading complex domestic and international investigations.

Tom’s cases spanned money laundering, tax evasion, conspiracy, cybercrime, cryptocurrency, embezzlement, public corruption, narcotics, and a wide range of fraud schemes, including wire, mail, bank, healthcare, bankruptcy, and mortgage fraud. He worked hand-in-hand with federal prosecutors to develop evidence, prepare loss and sentencing calculations, negotiate plea agreements, and deliver compelling testimony at trial. With extensive courtroom experience, Tom is skilled at explaining complex financial issues in ways that juries and judges can readily understand.

After retiring from public service, Tom founded a litigation consulting and expert witness practice, helping attorneys strengthen and support defense strategies. He has now joined former colleagues to establish Recon Forensics, a full-service forensic accounting and litigation support firm.

Tom’s unparalleled investigative background and trial experience uniquely position him to spot weaknesses in opposing cases and present clear, credible, and persuasive analysis on behalf of his clients.
