My Experience

Tom Klepper is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 30 years’ experience conducting criminal investigations and forensic accounting analysis.  Tom spent 3 decades as a Special Agent for the US Treasury Department (26 years) and as an Investigator for a Federal Financial Crimes Task Force (4 years).  During his public career, Tom led complex domestic and international investigations involving money laundering, tax evasion, conspiracy, cybercrime, cryptocurrency, embezzlement, public corruption, narcotics, and wire, mail, bank, healthcare, bankruptcy, and mortgage fraud violations.  He worked closely with prosecutors to effectively present evidence and testimony at trial, negotiate plea agreements, and prepare loss and sentencing calculations.  Tom has extensive experience testifying in trials and other court hearings.  After retiring from public service, Tom founded an expert witness and litigation consulting firm assisting attorneys in crafting and supporting effective defense strategies.  He now joins former colleagues in founding Recon Forensics to offer a complete forensic and litigation support solution for clients.  Tom’s extensive experience uniquely equips him to identify and exploit weaknesses in your opponent’s case while presenting complex analysis, evidence, and testimony in a simple manner, making it understandable and compelling in the courtroom.
